The map and screenshots are from a statistical exercise using various clustering strategies in ArcGIS Pro and RStudio, respectively. The map shows two standard deviational ellipses derived from tornado touchdown data. The following map is a density plot from the same data created in R, and the final plot is from a Ripley's K clustering analysis from a subset of the data in Iowa, also from R. The Ripley's K output shows statistically significant clustering of tornado touchdown points in Iowa at distances at or greater than about 30 kilometers.
