For this project, I was tasked with filtering, downloading, and combining data from the US Census site to explore census tract data in a mid-size American city. I downloaded the TIGER/Line geometry file for census tracts in my hometown of Tulsa County, Oklahoma and joined it with different data from the 2020 Decennial Census and American Community Survey. In order to join the data, I first spent time locating, cleaning, processing, and organizing the census data. I then imported the cleaned tables into ArcGIS Pro, joined it to the TIGER/Line geometry file, and designed the maps you see here. This project made me very comfortable and familiar with the US Census data download site and the process of cleaning census data for ease of use.
